Test 5 Material

Chapter 25

Part 1: Finish Ch 24--sorry, I don't think the slides worked, but the audio did.
Part 2: RNA viruses of medical importance

Chapter 24

Part 1: Almost finished DNA viruses

Chapter 17

Part 1: Finish Ch 21
Part 2: Attempt Ch 17--I may repost this if my second attempt goes better.

Chapter 21

Part 1: Discussion of miscellaneous bacteria. The video was not working, but the sound and slides were working.

Test 4 Material

Chapter 15

Part 1: Finish Ch 14. I used a different microphone today, that was attached to the computer, not to my shirt. Please let me know if the audio worked well (if not I will look for a different setup).
Part 2: Discuss Ch 15. We did not discuss all of Ch 15, and we will not be revisiting this chapter later.

Chapter 14

Finish Ch 13, and up to lymphatic system on Ch 14. Twice I noticed my microphone was not working--it was having connection issues. I apologize for whatever segments are missing sound.

Chapter 13

Part 1: Finish Ch 12, do most of Ch 13

Chapter 12

Part 1: Finish Chapter 20 quickly, and then on to Chapter 12.

Chapter 20-take 2

Part 1: We were "supposed" to get through all of Ch 20 and then talk about biological warfare, but we didn't even get through all of Ch 20. Sigh. At least there was a lot of good participation (or were you just trying to stall?). Have a great spring break!

Test 3 Material

Chapter 20??

Part 1: I took the entire time just going over Ch 11 material! The test will have very little material from Ch 20--maybe a few extra credit questions, and certainly a question or two on Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Chapter 11

Part 1: Finishing Ch 9 genetics
Part 2: Physical control methods (Note: I forgot to record the first part of this section)

Chapter 9

Part 1: Finishing Ch 8 cellular respiration
Part 2: Microbial genetics

Chapter 8

Part 1: Finishing Ch 19, Mycobacterium
Part 2: Enzymes & metabolism

Test 2 Material

Chapter 19

Part 1: Revisiting Ch 7 to finish that chapter
Part 2: Chapter 19 up to Corynebacterium diphtheriae

Chapter 7

Entire lecture up to environmental influences

Chapter 6

Entire lecture: stories of Louis, vaccines, virus discussion

Chapter 5

Part 1: Neisseria (ch 18) and Lynn Margulis
Part 2: Tour of eucaryotic cells

Test 1 material below this point

Chapter 18

Entire lecture. Note: we did not cover Neisseria.

Chapter 4

Entire lecture (1 1/2 hrs). NOTE: Audio stopped working after 56 minutes. I will try to get the last part recorded this afternoon.

Chapter 3

Part 1: some Ch 1, Ch 3 intro
Part 2: most of Ch 3

Chapter 1

Part 1: Class Introduction

Part 2: Chapter 1 info
